Thoughts on blogging…

#1. I suck at it.
#2. See number 1.

life: thoughts and beliefs

my name is kristen.

i am 25 years old.

i live in joplin missouri.

i am married.

my husband is without a doubt the best friend i have ever had in life.

i believe that god is real.

i was raised on the belief that you should be nice to everyone, because you never know what type of day the other person is having.

i believe that joy is a choice to be made each day.

i have learned throughout life that bullies are only bullies if you allow them to be.

it bothers me much more than it should when people pray prayers via social networks.

i do not believe that war will bring forward the peace or freedom that is has promised.

i think that people, myself included, spent way too much time comparing.

i hate showering.

i believe that no matter the circumstance, things will be ok in the end.

i believe this because joy is a choice.

i don’t think that greatness is defined by how successful you become.

i believe that each of us has the power to change the world. it starts with you. it overflows with your joy. and it spreads with kindness.

do something great today. xo

you there…

Hey, so remember that time I said I was going to blog more? And then the time I said I was going to take more pictures and craft more? What about the time I committed to the mile-a-day challenge and only made it through 2 weeks.

Well, here’s something that I actually did do: I opened an etsy shop. I don’t expect you to purchase anything, but if you wanted to take a look and give me honest feedback that would be much obliged (and if you wanted to buy something, well, that’s ok, too…).

Life is about progress. Sometimes we run, sometimes we sprint, but all that really matters is that we make it to the finish line.  Thanks for reading.

Snowma, snowma, snowmageddon

For the winter lovers out there, you know that wonderful you get when it’s snowing for the first time? It’s a great feeling – so warm and cozy. Now, imagine that same feeling except loud, and crashing, and scrapping. Makes the snow not so pleasant anymore, eh?

That was my morning. Abruptly awoken at 5 am by the crash of thunder and the clawing of freezing rain at my window. I worry that many of you may have understood the term ‘freezing rain’ to be synonymous with sleet. No, I’m talking gallons upon gallons of hail pounding at my window. But then it snowed. So you know, whatever.

And then I came to work. And I walked downtown through the gallons upon gallons of crazy ice-hail-snow-rain.

So how is your day going?
